NAYPITAW (15 Dec 2013) – Thailand won Group B of the men’s Futsal event here at the SEA Games when they destroyed Vietnam 4-0 in the match that was played this afternoon at the Naypyitaw Futsal Stadium.
But the game was much closer than the scoreline would suggest as captain Kritsada Wongkaeo scored the only goal of the first half in the fourth minute for Thailand to be just 1-0 in front at the break.
Jetasada Chudech then added to the scoreline with the second goal in the 26th minute as ASEAN Futsal Player of the Year Suphawut Thuenklang then found the back of the net twice (29th and 31st minute) for the win. But the game was marred by the red card on Thailand’s Jirawat Sornvichien.
Despite the loss, Vietnam still make the cut to the next round after their win over Laos earlier.
