MANILA (12 March 2013) – The PFF (Philippine Football Federation)-Suzuki Under-23 and National Cup’s regional qualifying round will be crucial for the national body as they look to strengthen their squad for the SEA Games 2013 later this year.
The tournament will last for two months in April and May.
“The objective of this competition is to provide a pool of players for this year’s SEA Games,” said Cyril Dofitas, the chairman of the PFF Competitions Committee. “At this point, we already have assigned scouts for the probable players who will compose the national pool.”
“The final decision for the composition of the national team will be in the hands of the national teams committee,” Dofitas said.
Added Satoshi Uchida, the president of Suzuki Philippines: “Suzuki is very committed to the development of local sports, especially football. We believe that through Cups like these, we are cultivating a new generation of young football players that our country can be proud of.”
