BINH DUONG (27 Nov 2013) – The Vietnam Under-23 team scored one win and one loss in their sojourn in Binh Duong which is being used as their final preparation venue for the SEA Games next month.
The team had beaten First Division side Tay Ninh 3-1 a few days earlier off goals from Manh Hung (30th minute) and Hoang Danh Ngoc (80th and 83rd minute) but today, they went down 1-0 to V-League newcomer Hung Vuong An Giang.
Felix Ajara headed the only goal of the game off a corner kick in the 44th minute.
“An Giang defended very well while my players were not accurate in their shots. They lost focus in the last minutes of the first half and conceded the goal,” said Hoang Van Phuc, the head coach of Vietnam U23.
“My strikers (Mac Hong Quan and Ha Minh Tuan) have not found their best form, but please be patient. I believe that they will shine at the SEA Games.”
Vietnam will take on First Division side HCM City club on Saturday.
