PETALING JAYA (10 May 2013) – Ong Kim Swee, the chief coach of the Malaysian Under-23 team is taking it all the pain and anguish in his stride as his Harimau Muda side continued their European sojourn without a win after eight matches.
Their latest defeat came at the hands of Nitra FC where they fell to a 2-0 loss to the Slovakian First Division.
“The loss showed the difference in quality and discipline of the players from Europe,” said Kim Swee. “We lost through two shots from outside the box where they punished us when we were all eager to find the equalizer.
“But we should take it in stride and be positive.”
The team had earlier fell to Hungarian clubs Kapos- vari FC (3-0) and FGSZ Siofok (4-0) and then to Slovakian club MSK Zilina (4-1 and 3-2). They were also given a harsh 7-1 lesson by the Georgian Under-21 team.
They held the Slovakian U19 team to a 1-1 draw as well as drawing scoreless against the Norwegian U19 squad.
