JAKARTA (22 Nov 2013) – Indonesia are close to winnning the MNC Cup 2013 after thumping Papua New Guinea 6-0 for their second win in the competition at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
“The players are shaping up nicely even though tonight we were up against a physical side from Papua New Guinea,” said Indonesian coach Rahmad Darmawan.
Indonesia got their goals off Dendi Santoso (19th), Yandi Sofyan (38th) (65th), Andik Vermansah (53rd), Bayu Gatra (72nd) and Roni Esar Feliks Beroperay (79th).
In the meantime, Laos (pix) edged Maldives 2-1.
Phoutthasay Khochalern gave Laos the lead after 33 minutes as Phouthone Inalay then added the second goal in 66 minute.
Maldives pulled a goal back from the spot right at the end.
