JAKARTA (19 June 2013) – The Indonesian national Under-23 team preparing for the SEA Games at the end of the year fell to a 1-0 loss to a Jakarta All-Star team this evening at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
The only goal in the game came off Radja Nainggolan’s rifling shot from outside the box in the 44th minute to beat U23 keeper Adixi Lenzivio.
And while Andik Vermansyah and co. did try hard to get back into the game, there was just too much experience in the Jakarta All-Star side as custodian Hendro Kartiko kept a clean sheet.
“I told the players that it is not their individual skill I was looking for. The match was a good outing for the team as I believe several will make the SEA Games squad,” said Rahmad Darmawan, the chief coach of the Indonesia U23 team.
