JAKARTA (21 Nov 2013) – Hosts Indonesia beat Laos 3-0 in their first match of the MNC Cup this evening in Jakarta.
In the match that was played at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Indonesia controlled the game for long periods but only got their first goal of the game in the 42nd minute when Ramdani Lestaluhu made good off the hardwork from Andik Vermansyah.
With the score 1-0 to Indonesia’s advantage, the home team then nailed the second goal of the game in the 74th minute, with a 20metre scorcher from Andik (pix).
And just three minutes later, Laos keeper Chintana Souksavath was beaten for the third time in the game when Alfin Tuasalamony crashed through the Laos defence for an awkward shot.
With the win, the Indonesian U23 team will take on the Papua New Guinea U23 side tomorrow at the same venue while Laos will play Maldives.
In an earlier match, Maldives beat Papua New Guinea with the only goal of the game coming off Ali Fasir in the 37th minute.
