BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (14 Oct 2013) – The Brunei Under-23 team was handed with a 5-0 hiding by DPMM FC in a friendly that was played last night at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
Missing several key players like Adi Said, midfielder Azwan Ali Rahman and goalkeeper Md Fakhrul Zulhazmi Yussof who were all playing for DPMM FC, the loss was not a little unexpected.
Adi went on to grab four goals (7th, 35th, 68th and 88th minute) in the process as Mohd Subhi Abdilah scored the other goal in the 22nd minute to give DPMM a comprehensive victory
“We started off slow and the players seemed scared. We needed all the match experience considering that we were going up against the seniors,” said assistant coach Zainuddin Kassim afterwards.
“We will need to improve on our passing game. Confidence is also very important and it can be seen that the teamwork is not there yet. We will need to be more organized.”
“Hopefully we will be able to do better in our next friendly.”
The two sides will clash again tomorrow.
