JAKARTA (25 June 2013) – After scoring just one goal in their last two matches, Indonesian Under-23 coach Rahmad Darmawan is a little worried of the players that he has in the frontline.
The Indonesian youngsters held their Singapore counterparts to a 1-1 draw in Solo while in the second friendly in Jakarta; they fell to a 1-0 loss to a Jakarta All-Star side.
The trio of Agung Supriyanto, Andik Vermansah and Joko Sasongko were just unable to stamp their mark despite the numerous chances that were created.
“We are still in the selection stage, so it is important that we keep looking for players to make up for all the shortcomings that we are facing at the moment,” said Rahmad.
After the first two selections, the third trial next month will see several foreign-based players like Syamsir Alam (DC United), Alfin Tuasalamony and Manahati Lestussen (CS Vise) making their appearance.
“I hope that they can be the solution to the team’s problems,” he added.
