BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (16 Aug 2013) – To give the Brunei Under-23 team more competitive edge, the National FA of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) have pencilled the team in for the Borneo Games next month.
Other than the Borneo Games which will be held in Labuan on 13-21 Sept, the team is also scheduled to take part in the Inter-City Football tournament in Kuching.
“We have a very busy schedule ahead of us as we will also be taking part in the Borneo Games in Labuan next month and the Inter-City Football tournament in Kuching,” said Brunei U23 team manager Feisal Eusoff.
“It will be very good training for us.We need to play as many friendly games as we can before the tournament to make sure that the players are ready in terms of fitness and game time.
“Other countries are preparing seriously for the SEA Games this year.”
Brunei’s friendly foray last night in Solo ended in a 1-0 loss to hosts Indonesia. The team had earlier conceded a 2-1 defeat to DPMM FC in an earlier game.
