CIBUBUR (20 Nov 2011) – Thailand’s women Futsal team are leading the way in the competition where after three matches, they are at the top of the standings with the full nine points from three matches played at the POPKI in Cibubur.
And this morning, the Thai women put up a pulsating display of attacking Futsal when they beat Myanmar with a whopping 14-8 scoreline. Orathai Srimanee was again in her element when she scored six goals (4th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 23th and 31st minute) alongside Darika Peanpailun’s hat trick in the 15th, 28th and 39th.
The remainder of the goals came off Sasicha Phothiwong (4th and 6th minute), Nipaporn Sriwarom (7th), Jiraprapa Tupsuri (35th) and San San Maw’s own goal in the 31st minute.
Myanmar’s goals were scored by Aye Nandar Hlaing (11th, 12th, 15th, 17th, 37th, 39th minute), Khin Marlar Tun (8th minute) and then an own goal from Nipaporn a minute later.
With the loss today, Myanmar are almost certain to be out of contention for the final even though they still have a game against hosts Indonesia to play for tomorrow. After three matches, Myanmar have collected six points and where they will need to score at least 15 goals to make the cut.
In the meantime, Vietnam completed their round robin matches today with a 4-1 demolition of the Philippines with Thi Thanh Nguyen grabbing a double off goals in the 8th and 36th minute. Le Ai Duyen Phan (14th minute) and Thi Chau Nguyen (37th) were the other scorers for Vietnam.
