PHNOM PENH (1 Nov 2011) – A 1-0 loss in their last friendly is not exactly a fine situation to be in with the SEA Games just days away, but Cambodia national Under-23 chief coach Lee Tae Hoon is confident that his chargers will put up a better performance at the biennial championship.
Cambodia conceded a close 1-0 loss to the Nepal national team in their last tune-up tie as they look to put up more than just token resistance in Group A of the meet which also features hosts Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
“I believe that they are not playing at 100% for the game because they are worried that they might get injured before the start of the SEA Games,” said Tae Hoon.
“But I think that the boys will bounce back from this defeat and that they are capable of putting up a better showing when the tournament begins.
“All four teams whom we will meet at the SEA Games are bigger rivals than Nepal, so we will have busier games. I will continue to encourage them to focus on the Games.”
Cambodia’s first game at the SEA Games will be against hosts Indonesia on 7 November 2011 at the Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno.
