JAKARTA (15 Nov 2011) – With their first game against hosts Indonesia in the men’s Futsal event just days away, Philippines chief coach Esmaeil Sedigh has promised a sterling performance.
The Futsal event at this year’s SEA Games will kick off on 17 November 2011 but the Philippines will have a rest day instead which will give them the chance to better prepare themselves for their opening game a day later.
They will have the chance to look at Indonesia taking on Vietnam on the first day of the competition.
“They will play with their hearts for the country,” said Sedigh. “Both the men and women’s team have been hard at work for the last six months under the guidance of the PFF (Philippine Football Federation) and also the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).”
The Philippines men’s team is in Group A against hosts Indonesia and Vietnam while for the women’s, the five teams – Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, Philippines – will be playing in a round robin format.
On 18 November 2011, the men will play Indonesia while the women will take on Myanmar.
