PHNOM PENH (28 Oct 2011) – Cambodia will take on Nepal in a friendly today which will determine chief coach Lee Tae Hoon’s final selection for the SEA Games 2011.
Cambodia have been placed in a tough Group A against defending champions Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore.
With striker Keo Sokngon set to make a return after recovering from an ankle injury, the test against Nepal will be invaluable for Tae Hoon before he names his squad of just 20 players for the biennial championship.
The other players in contention are captain Khoun Laboravy and also defenders Chhin Meng Seang and Touch Pancharong.
“We are not looking at the result in this friendly where the more important factor is for them to play well and being injury-free,” added the South Korean tactician (pix).
The last friendly the Cambodia U23 team played was against Naga Corp, the runners-up of the 2011 Metfone C-League, which they won 2-1.
Nepal are currently on an ASEAN Tour which thus far saw them losing 4-0 to the Philippines national team and then 2-0 to the Malaysia Olympics side.
