MANILA (2 Nov 2011) – Jason de Jong makes a return to Indonesia this week – hoping that this time round, he will be able to make more than just a passing impression.
De Jong was part of the Philippines squad that played against Indonesia in the semi-finals of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 before he was signed to a short-lived stint with Persiba Balikpapan in the Indonesia Super League.
But this week, de Jong has been named as part of the 20-man squad which will be hoping to win their first podium finish in men’s football at the SEA Games.
Following their week-long stay in Japan where they played several friendlies, the Philippines squad was named this week to carry their challenge in Group B which also has Vietnam, Laos, Timor Leste, Brunei and Myanmar.
