JAKARTA (30 July 2013) – Indonesia which will be hosting the AFF Under-19 Championship in September this year will be putting their team through the paces with two tough matches next month.
Joko Driyono, the general secretary of the FA of Indonesia (PSSI), said this week that under the plan, the U19 will play against Saudi Arabia and also Timor Leste shortly before the tournament proper, although these matches are not yet 100% confirmed.
“For the game against Saudi Arabia, we are planning to play them in Malaysia on 25 August before playing against Timor Leste,” said Joko.
The AFF U19 Championship will be held on 9-22 September in Surabaya with the hosts being placed in Group B against Brunei, Vietnam Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand.
Group A are Laos, Philippines, Australia, Timor Leste, Singapore and Cambodia.
