PHNOM PENH (23 Dec 2009) – The Samdech Hun Sen Cup 2010 will begin on the same day as the National Liberation Day – 7 January 2010.
The Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) made the announcement for the start of Cambodia’s premier domestic football competition this week. The annual championship will feature 32 teams from across the country and where they will begin preliminary rounds in the province before the final phase in the capital Phnom Penh. Four ‘centres’ – namely Siem Reap, Battambang, Svay Rieng and Kep – will determine the top two teams from each group that will form to get into the 16-team knockout phase which will be held at the National Olympic Stadium from 30 January onwards. The final is scheduled for Saturday, 6 March 2010. Cambodian Premier League (CPL) heavyweights Phnom Penh Crown are the defending champions. |
