SAFFC JUST ONE POINT AHEAD IN S-LEAGUE

With league leaders SAFFC failing to pick up the full points against Gombak United, the win by the Super Reds made sure that they are within striking distance of the title.

The Super Reds are currently third in the standings albeit with the same points as Home United following the latter’s 1-0 victory over Balestier Khalsa.

The score at the halfway point was 2-1 in favour of Tampines with
Oh Ddog Yi making it count against goals from Khairul Amri and captain Rafi Ali for the homesters.

But the Korean side made it count after the breather when they struck twice off supersub Moon Soon Ho and Joo Ki Hwan for the three points and the win.

“We tried out a different approach in the second half after our strategies hadn’t worked in the first period,” said Jeon Kyeong Joon, the head coach of the Reds.

“It was good to get the three points, as we are hopeful of heading towards (our target of winning) the title.”
