HO CHI MINH CITY (8 Jan 2014) – With AS Roma taking a firm lead of the Nutrifood Under-19 Cup here in Ho Chi Minh City, hosts Vietnam were pummeled 7-0 by Japan at the Thong Nhat Stadium this evening.
AS Roma edged Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in the first game of the day to pick up their second full points of the competition. The Italian side had beaten Vietnam 2-1 two days ago.
On the other hand, Vietnam simply had no answer to Japan’s marauding side when they were thrashed 7-0 by Vietnam.
The goals for Japan were scored by Minamito Takumi (1st and 20th minute), Sekine Takahiro (5th), Miura Genta (17th), Mochizuki Reo (76th minute penalty), Tamura Ryosuka (86th) and Shuto Kitagawa (90th).
Vietnam will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the final day of the tournament in two days, while Japan will play Vietnam.
