SINGAPORE (April 26, 2007) – The RHB Singapore Cup 2007 will begin this Sunday with Albirex Niigata set to take on Bangkok University (Thailand) at the at the Stadium Jurong East Stadium.
The Young Lions will then travel to the Jurong West Stadium to face Gombak United a day later before Sengkang Punggol entertains Phnom Penh Empire from Cambodia at the Hougang Stadium on Labour Day. The other clashes on consecutive days will be between Balestier Khalsa and last season’s runners-up Chonburi FC in Toa Payoh with Geyland United taking on league champions SAFFC on Thursday at the Bedok Stadium. Woodlands Wellington will be away to Liaoning Guangyuan on May 4 while two days later, Home United welcome the Korean Super Reds at the Bishan Stadium. Defending champions Tampines Rovers will only start their defence of the title they won last year against Brunei’s DPMM FC at the Tampines Stadium on May 31.
