REVENGE FINAL FOR HAGL IN BIDC CUP

The former V-League champions had conceded a 3-2 loss to the Cambodia U23 side in the opening match of the BIDC Cup on 8 November 2009.

But after brushing aside another V-Leaguer Vissai Ninh Binh 3-0 in their second match and then another 3-0 over the Laos U23 in their third round robin match, HAGL have emerged at the top of the table.

HAGL made sure of the win against the young Laos side with goals off Doan Van Sakda in the 45th minute, Elado Rodrigues (50th minute) and Ho Van Thuan (53rd).

They will now play Cambodia U23 to decide the overall winner of the BIDC Cup this year.

For the Cambodia U23 side, they must have been a little disappointed where after a good start when they scored the win over HAGL; they beat the Laos U23 side 2-0 only to falter to a 1-0 defeat to Vissai with the only goal of the game coming off Nguyen Thanh Son in the 17th minute.

With HAGL taking on Cambodia U23 for the title, Laos U23 will take on Vissai to decide who finished on third.
