HO CHI MINH CITY (3 May 2015) – Indonesia were at the wrong end of a rampaging Thai side when they were lambasted 10-1 on the second match day of Group B of the AFF Women’s Championshio here tonight at the Thong Nhat Stadium.
Eager to make up for the disappointment from their first game where they fell to a 3-0 loss to the Australian Under-20 side, the Thais came out with all cylinders firing and took just five minutes to score their first goal when a cross from Anootsara Maijarern was headed into goal by Nisa Romyen.
Indonesia then tightened up their defence to hold Thailand for long periods and denied them from doubling the advantage.
It was not until the half hour mark that the Indonesian defence collapsed under the tremendous pressure with Anootsara scoring in the cross from Nisa.
With a space of eight minutes, Indonesia conceded three goals off Anootsara (37th minute) and Nisa (39th and 45th) for Thailand to take a more than comfortable 5-0 advantage into the second half.
Thailand continued the pressure into the second half and they added further goals through Pikul Khueanpet (53rd minute), Wilaiporn Boothduang (59th), Alisa Rukinij (66th) and Naphat Seesraum (72nd).
Indonesia then pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute through Erma Karafir to give the handful of Indonesian supporters at least a reason to cheer as Orathai Srimanee then finished things off with the last goal of the game three minutes to the end.
