YANGON (16 Aug 2015) – With runaway leaders Yangon United seem certain to snatch their fourth Myanmar National League (MNL) crown in five year, Rakhine United has firmly put the relegation battle on full swing following their exhilarating 3-2 win over Zwekapin United.
Following a stuttering opener by both teams, Saw Win Htoo found the lead for Rakhine on 26 minute before Ken replied for Zwekapin with four minutes left of the first half.
Kaung Si Thu then gave the home team the lead just a minute into the restart as Rakhine then found the back of the net twice through Aung Khine Tun (56th minute) and Min Ko Thu (83rd) for the win.
With the three points, Rakhine have amassed just 11 points from 15 matches – the same as fellow strugglers Hantharwady United and Manaw Myay.
Elsewhere, Yadanarbon beat Chin United 1-0 while Kanbawza beat Nay Pyi Taw 4-3.
