BANGKOK (26 April 2017) – Serbian Milovan Rajevac has been named as the new head coach of Thailand.
The 63-year-old’s arrival was confirmed by the FA of Thailand (FAT) on Wednesday, and comes after previous incumbent Kiatisuk Senamuang resigned last month.
Rajevac is no stranger to international football, having famously taken Ghana to within a victory of the 2010 FIFA World Cup semi-finals.
The former Red Star Belgrade player also has experience in Asia with Saudi Arabian club side Al Ahli and the Qatar national team – a post he held in 2011.
Despite Thailand no longer being able to qualify for next year’s FIFA World Cup, Rajevac will be intent on making a bright start to his reign when the War Elephants resume their Russia 2018 qualifying campaign against the United Arab Emirates on June 13.
