SHAH ALAM (20 July 2012) – English Premier League side Queens Park Rangers showed their quality for the new season when they blasted Kelantan Selection 5-0 in their second friendly of the Asia Tour tonight.
The team had beaten Sabah Selection by the same score line a few days earlier.
And tonight in the game that was played at the Shah Alam Stadium, it was Kelantan who got their first real look at goal when Indra Putra Mahayuddin almost headed in the lead on seven minutes.
But ten minutes later, QPR went ahead when Sean Wright-Philips blasted in the lead off a short pass. With Norshahrul Idlan Talaha denied some moments later, the score at the half was 1-0 to QPR.
The several changes at the half for the handful of invited players changed the pace and the rhythm of the game as QPR youngster Michael Harriman doubled the lead for the visitors just eight minutes after he restart.
In the 73rd minute, David Mackie makes it 3-0 before further goals from Bobby Zamora (82nd minute) and Heidar Helguson (90th) wrapped things up for QPR.
