JAKARTA (29 August 2009) – The Indonesia FA (PSSI) will be picking up the tab for the participation of their national Under-23 side at the SEA Games in Laos at the end of the year.
Following the financial dilemma facing the Olympic Council of Indonesia (KOI), the PSSI had already made the decision a while back that they will have to pay the bills for the football contingent. It would seem that this arrangement is nothing new where the PSSI had also done the same in the last few SEA Games. “I have yet to be informed of the departure dates but just like it was two years ago, the PSSI will have to pick up the tab for the team’s participation at the SEA Games,“ said Rahim Soekasah, the head of PSSI’s national team management. “Furthermore, the promise by the KOI to reimburse the money spent by the PSSI (around USD 50,000) at the last SEA Games in Thailand has yet to materialise.“ The Indonesia U23 side is currently in training in Palembang. |
