JAKARTA (19 Feb 2012) – The FA of Indonesia (PSSI) have selected the city of Palangkaraya in Central Kalimantan to host the annual Congress on 18 March 2012. This was announced by the Executive Committee of the PSSI yesterday.
“We chose Palangkaraya because the support from the people and also the Governor of Centra Kalimantan has been fabulous. Anyway, we feel that it is about time we promote activities in the provinces,” said PSSI president Djohar Arifin Husein.
Djohar explained that the reason why the PSSI are hosting the Congress next month was to comply with the directives issued by FIFA on 13 January 2012. He said that the Congress will give the opportunity for various members to tackle issues from the last several months.
Towards that, the PSSI have also sifted through the participants for the Congres where they will come from 33 provincial PSSI managers, 12 representatives from the Indonesia Premier League, 16 representatives from Divisi Utama, 14 from Divisi One and 12 from Divisiion Two clubs as well as 10 from Division Three.
