JAKARTA (21 June 2013) –The FA of Indonesia (PSSI) are taking a more serious stance towards two major AFF events this year – the AFF U16 meet and also the AFF U19 championship – by making early preparations.
The PSSI National Team Management announced this week, that centralised training for both teams will be held concurrently at two different venues.
The Yogyakarta State University (UNY) has been chosen as the venue for the U19 while for the U16, they will be held at two different venues in Sawangan, Bogor and also in Pahang, Malaysia.
“The schedule has been set. For the U19, it will begin on 23 June while for the U16, it will be on 1-8 July 2013. The players will all come from provincial association and also clubs,” said La Nyalla Mahmud Mattalitti (pix), the chairman of the PSSI National Team Management.
The U16 team will be handled by Sutan Harhara where he will be assisted by Mundari Karya, Gatot Prasetyo and Welliansyah for the meet slated for 20 August to 2 September in Naypiydaw, Myanmar.
While for the U19 where Indonesia will be hosting the meet this year in Surabaya on 9–22 September, a more intensive programme has been put in place with two selection trials being organised beginning this week.
