JAKARTA (24 Sept 2019) – The FA of Indonesia (PSSI) Executive Committee has decided to keep faith with national head coach Simon McMemeny for their next match of the second round qualifiers of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Indonesia’s next match of the qualifiers in Group G would be an away tie against the United Arab Emirates on 10 October and then Vietnam at home five days later.
The Indonesia national side conceded a 3-2 loss to Malaysia and then a 3-0 defeat to Thailand in their first two matches of the qualifiers. Both matches were played at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
“McMenemy will continue to train the Indonesia national side against UAE next,” said PSSI Exco member Gusti Randa.
“It is too risky to change coach at this time as we have less than a month for the game against UAE.”.
“We expect a better performance from the team.”
