JAKARTA (24 May 2016) – Following the lifting of their suspension by FIFA earlier this month, the FA of Indonesia (PSSI) have wasted no time in getting down to the brass tacks ahead of the AFF U19 and also the AFF Suzuki Cup.
The PSSI – which is currently in the midst of organising an EGM – have identified these two tournaments as the main events for them to get back into the AFF fold.
And after being in the freeze since the end of 2015 for government interference, all semblance of proper governance has had to be redrawn.
“We are already in touch with the government and they have agreed to look into the funding of the national teams,” said acting President of the PSSI, Hinca Pandjaitan.
“We will come up with the proposal complete with the whole agenda and also activities leading up to the tournament proper for these two teams.”
The AFF U19 Championship will be played in Vietnam this year on 11-24 September.
The blue-riband event of the AFF Suzuki Cup will begin on 19 November in Myanmar and the Philippines.
