JAKARTA (26 Jan 2012) – The FA of Indonesia (PSSI) have indicated that they expect up to 80% new faces for the new Indonesia national team that will be assembled for their next match in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Bahrain.
Indonesia will play Bahrain in the sixth and final match of Group E of the third round of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers in Manama on 29 February. After five matches in the group, the Indonesians are still without a point to their name.
Bob Hippy, the PSSI national team coordinator, confirmed that 80% new faces will make up the 30 players that will report for centralised training on 29 January in Cibubur. Only 18 players will be brought to Bahrain.
“We are only calling players from the IPL (Indonesia Premier League),” said Bob.
