JAKARTA (6 Nov 2012) – The FA of Indonesia (PSSI) have agreed to have the Indonesia Premier League (IPL) and also the Indonesia Super League (ISL) 2012-3013 to run concurrently.
The two tournaments will be run independently with the IPL under the supervision of PT Liga Prima Indonesia Sportindo (PT LPIS) while the ISL will be organised by PT Liga Indonesia (PT LI).
PSSI stated that both competitions will run at the same time until such time when the Joint Committee is able to find the right formula to have both leagues under one wing.
“It is for this reason why we have decided to legalise both competitions and where we will officially write to the Republic of Indonesia Police to recognise them and give them proper security measures during matches,” added Djohar Arifin (pix), the president of the PSSI.
