YANGON (4 Jan 2013) – When compared to some of the more established clubs in Europe, Yangon United is a downright infant. But what they lacked in terms of maturity, the club owners have made sure that Yangon United can even put some clubs in Malaysia to shame.
Despite being established only in 2009, Yangon United is the most successful club in Myanmar with two league titles (2011 and 2012) and also the 2011 Max Cement MFF Cup.
And their achievements would not have been possible had it not been for the support of one of the richest men in Myanmar Tay Za, the owner of Air Bagan.
The club boast not only a training pitch, they also have laid down a full-sized astro turf complete with a 5,000-seater stands. There are plans to expand this facility in the near future for Yangon United to host all their matches at this venue.

There’s also a swimming pool as part of player rehabilitation apart from a fully-equipped gymnasium. To better facilitate their foreign players, Yangon United has also built a two-story apartment complex within the facility. The building also houses the administrative staff of the club.
Following their win of the Myanmar National League in 2012, Yangon United has earned the right to play in the AFC Cup in 2013.
