HANOI (11 Feb 2010) – The pressure is on head coach Kiatisuk Senamuang to turn things around for Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) after two defeats in their first two matches of the new V-League 2010 season.
The Central Highlands team are currently second from the bottom in the table following their 2-1 loss to Hoa Phat Ha Noi at home in their last league match. In their season opening game two weeks ago, HAGL fell to a 4-2 loss to Khanh Hoa. Kiatisuk, who helped HAGL to win promotion from the First Division to the V-League in 2001 before winning two titles in a row as a striker, will have to change the gameplan when the team take on Binh Duong next. The former Thai captain, who is being assisted by another former Thai international Dusit Chalermsan, will have to find the formula to gel his star-studded squad – which includes Vietnamese-American Lee Nguyen, Thai playmaker Thonglao Datsakorn, Brazilian striker Evaldo Goncalves, two foreign nationals Nirut Surasiang and Sakda Joemdee and Czech goalie Michael Shahavy – together. In the meantime, Hai Phong Cement were in dominating form over arch-rivals Lam Son Thanh Hoa just they just could not find the final touch as both teams finished scoreless. After two rounds, Binh Duong and Ha Noi T&T lead the table with six points while Hai Phong are 11th and Thanh Hoa 13th. |
