PHNOM PENH (18 June 2012) – Preah Khan Reach FC took advantage of the slip up of their nearest rival to stay top of the Metfone Cambodia League 2012 when they edged struggling Chhlam Samut 1-0 at the National Olympic Stadium.
With previous leader National Police able only to eke out a 1-1 draw against newcomer Boueng Ket Rubber Field – Oladiji Nelson Olatunde lead in the 40th minute being erased by Momoh Degule Sumaila in the 71st minute for Boueng Ket – Preah Khan fend off the jitters to pick up the full points against Chhlam Samut.
The only goal for Preah Khan came in the 72nd minute off Nen Sothearathb for them to pick up 25 points from 11 matches. National Police is second with 24 points from the same number of games played while Naga Corp FC is third with 23 points, with a game in hand.
In the meantime, Phnom Penh Crown FC scored their biggest win to date this season when they thumped Western University 5-0.
The goals for Phnom Penh came off Njoku kingsley Metu in the 15th minute, Khim Borey (20th minute), Tieng Tiny (29th), Hong Pheng (65th) and Sos Souhana (87th).
