PHNOM PENH (30 June 2009) – Cambodia Premier League leaders Preah Khan Reach FC maintained a six-point lead at the top of the standings following their easy 3-0 victory over Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC.
It was Kirivong’s second defeat in under a week following their loss to Phnom Penh Crown in their previous match. The match began brightly for Preah Khan when Keo Kosal blasted in the lead in the 15th minute before they grabbed their second of the afternoon off Nout Sinuon in the 45th minute. Prak Mono Oudom then wrapped up the three points with Preah Khan’s third goal two minutes to the end. In the meantime, Phnom Penh Crown kept chase of the league leaders with a close 2-1 win over Spark FC. But it was Spark who went in front through J. Uch Prince in the 28th minute before Phnom Penh struck back with two quick goals in the second half from K. Mpoka Oscar in the 75th minute and A. Tunji Ayoyinka in the 77th minute. The win has allowed Phnom Penh to remain on second – six points behind Preah Khan. In the other matches of the day, Naga Corp thrashed Post Tel Club FC 5-1 while National Defense Ministry FC edged Phouchung Neak FC 1-0 with the solitary goal coming off Sin Dalin in the 30th minute.
