PHNOM PENH (4 July 2009) – Preah Khan Reach FC completed the first half of the Cambodia Premier League at the to of the pecking order as defending champions Phnom Penh Crown moved within three points to conclude their fixtures.
After nine matches of the Cambodia Premier League 2009, Preah Khan have picked up 22 points from seven wins, one draw and one loss while Phnom Penh are on 19 points off six wins, one draw and two defeats. Third at the table is Naga Corps with 15 points. In their last game of the first round, Phnom Penh had little difficulty to sidestep Post Tel Club FC 4-1 with goals from Chim Ratanak in the 48th minute, A. Tunji Ayoyinka (70th), Hong Ratana (88th) and Keo Sokngan (89th). Post Tel’s only goal in the game come off Sang Net deep in injury time. On the other hand, Khemara Keila FC improved to fourth from sixth in the standings following their 3-1 victory over Build Bright United FC. Khemara’s goals were scored by Samut Dalin in the 22nd minute, Kuoch Sokumphiak (46th) and O. N. Olatunde (49th) while Build Bright had only the solitary strike off Chhun Sotherat in the 13th minute to show for. The second round of the Cambodia Premier League will begin on 11 July 2009.
