BANGKOK (19 Feb, 2008) – Port Authority of Thailand surged ahead to be three points clear at the top of the Thai Futsal League 2007/2008 following close rivals Cat Telecom’s defeat to Bangkok the previous week.
Cat Telecom which has been on a neck to neck race with Port Authority for the title this year, clammed up on the day as they faltered to an uncharacteristic 6-3 loss to Bangkok. The defeat allowed Port Authority to follow up their 5-1 win over Samutprakarn to beat Nakhonratchasima 6-3 as they continue their march into the last few games of the season. Port Authority made sure of the win with goals off Charnyut Maungchan in the third minute, Wiwat Sriyanong (4th minute), Surachai Boonrat (9th minute), Samrarn Asana (19thminute) and Suchin Eiamchalard (22nd and 27th minute). Cat Telecom on the hand bounced back to beat Samutprakarn 3-1 to remain on second at the table as they scored off Narongsak Kongkeaw in the 18th minute, Joe Neungkerd (34th minute) and Oswaldo Freitas (36th minute).
