PORT AUTHORITY MOVE UP TO FIFTH

With leaders Chonburi Bluewave still maintaining their hold at the top of the standings where this week they edged Royal Thai Navy 5-3, Port Authority kept pace to move into the top half of the table following a stuttering start to the season this year.

Port Authority were quicker off the block taking a 2-0 lead at the half through Natawut Mudyalan in the eighth minute and then Wutichai Thintavee in the 14th minute.

Just a minute into the second half, Port Authority stretched to a 3-0 advantage through Suchin Eamchalat’s 21st minute strike as I AM Sport then rallied to score three goals from Sarawut Jaipetch (27th minute), Maykel Ferreira (28th) and then Kitipol Ekjit (31st) to tie the score at 3-3.

But Port Authority were not about to be denied after putting in so much hard work early in the game as Wutichai blasted in his second of the afternoon before Tanakorn Santanaprasit (35th minute) and Prakit Dankuntod (37th) added the remaining goals for the final scoreline.

Chonburi’s win over Royal Thai Navy saw then picking up their 16th win of the season for them to collect 50 points – two points ahead of second-placed CAT Telecom.

CAT Telecom were also winners on the day where they overcame at a 2-0 deficit to beat TOT FC 5-3 with Rogerio Moreira nailing a hat-trick (24th,26th and 38th minute) and a brace from Lertchai Isarasuwipakorn (30th and 39th).

I AM Sport is still comfortable on third despite their loss to Port Authority where they have an eight-point advantage over fourth-placed Bangkok University.
