BANGKOK (3 March, 2008) – A 7-0 beating of Bangkok on the weekend has given Port Authority of Thailand the points they needed to stay ahead of second-placed Chonburi Bluewave as they Thai Futsal League 2007/2008 heads into the last three games of the season.
Charnyuth Muangjun’s fourth minute strike and Tanakorn Santanaprasit’s goal in the sixth minute was quickly followed by Marut Piaklaiklong three minutes later as Port Authority stride confidently into the break on a 3-0 advantage. Further goals from Wuttichai Thintawee (23rd minute), Alongkorn Pathumwong (34th minute), Charnyuth Muangjun 37th minute and Ukrit Taengtung 38th minute made sure of the three points which was a marked improvement from their 6-4 loss to Chonburi the previous week. Chonburi in the meantime, maintained the pressure at the top of the standings with a 10-1 win over Suratthani to stay within a point of the leaders with goals coming off Panuwat Janta 2nd minute, Suppawut Teunklang (3rd and 31st minute), Nattapol Suthirote (13th minute), Francisco Jackson (19th and 20th minute), Willyan Christyanno (29th and 35th minute), Krisda Wongkeaw (33rd minute) and Jaded Poonperm (36th minute). Third-placed TOT on the other had were also easy winners on the day as they blasted Sripatum University 5-0. Cat Telecom’s 20-1 win over basement side Nakhonratchasima completed the haul for the top four teams in the league going into the next match of the league which will be played in mid-week at Fashion Island.
