SOLO (19 August 2010) – Mundari Karya, the chief coach of the Indonesia national Under-16 team, feels that his chargers still need a bit more time to mature ahead of the AFF Under-16 Championship which will be held at the Manahan Stadium in Solo on 20-26 September.
This even though the team scored a morale boosting 2-0 win over Urakan FC recently with goals off Angga in the 25th minute and Hadi in the 60th minute. “Our target is not to be a disappointment at the AFF U-16 Championship 2010 di Solo. If we can do that, then we will set the target for the AFC U-16 Championship in Tashkent,” said Mundari. The Tashkent meet in Uzbekistan for the AFC U16 championship will be held on 23 October to 7 November with the best 16 Asian teams taking part. Mundari said that the majority of the players which will be playing in Solo came from the same side which played at the AFC qualifiers where at the same time, he has also included several new faces from the selection process which was done following matches in the Indonesia Education League recently. “Thus far, the combination play between players has been excellent. They seem to be compact when they are playing together which is a good sign,” added Mundari. ”The only thing is that I want the players to show more maturity in their positions and they will need time for that to happen.” The next match for the Indonesia U16 squad which is currently based Senawang will be against Villa 2000 Pamulang. |
