JAKARTA (6 July 2016) – Indonesian assistant coach Wolfgang Pikal has welcomed news to stop the Indonesia Soccer Championship (ISC) 2016 following crowd trouble this week.
Imam Nahrawi, the Indonesian Minister for Youth and Sports has given out suggestion that the ISC should be stopped this week following the fight between fans of Persija Jakarta and Sriwijaya FC.
“If the ISC is called off, it will be good for the national team. It will allow the national team to have a longer period for centralised training. And that is very good,” said Pikal.
As of this time, the national team management has yet to schedule in the centralised training due to the on-going ISC. Other than the scheduling, the list of players for the national team has yet to be announced.
“We have wait and see whether we can have the centralise training after Eid,” he added.
