PHUKET IS THE VENUE FOR GROUP B OF THE AFF SUZUKI CUP 2008

The FA of Thailand (FAT) decided that Phuket is the best alternative venue to host one group of the biennial tournament this year following unresolved political unrest in the capital city of Bangkok.

As such, Phuket will play host to the national team of Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Laos in Group B of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2008.

The 15,000 capacity of the Sarakul Stadium will be the main competition venue.

Group A which will be based in Jakarta will have hosts Indonesia, Singapore, Myanmar and Cambodia where they will do battle at the Stadium Gelora Bung Karno.
