PHNOM PENH STRUGGLE; NAGA CORP KEEP CHASE

PHNOM PENH (12 June 2012) – Defending champions Phnom Penh Crown FC continue to struggle in the Metfone Cambodia League 2012 when they picked up just one point this week as Naga Corp FC kept chase at the top of the table with a 3-0 beating of Boueng Ket Rubber Field FC.

Choun Chum opened the lead on 18^th minute as Teab Vathanak then added the second goal on 33^rd minute for Naga to be comfortable 2-0 at the break. Choun Chum wrapped things up with the third and final goal of the afternoon deep in injury time.

For defending champions Phnom Penh Crown, they failed to pick up to the full points against current league leaders National Police when they battled to a 1-1 draw.

Phnom Penh put their noses in front just after the break when Obadin Odion Anthony converted a penalty in the 54^th minute. But National Police replied with the equaliser on 74 minute for both teams to share points.

In the meantime, Preah Khan Reach FC had to stage a second half onslaught before they were able to demolish Western University 6-0 with Cambodian international Khoun Laboravy grabbing a brace with two goals in the 80^th and 88^th minute.

With the score tied at the half, Tum Saray opened account with the lead on 46^th minute as Sok Chanreaksmey then added the second goal in the 55^th minute.

Further goals from David Njoku in the 66^th minute and Olawale Oyeniyi Bologun in the 92^nd minute ensured Preah Khan the full points.

Elsewhere, Chhlam Samut held National Defense Ministry FC to a 3-3 draw.
