PHNOM PENH (18 July 2011) – Defending champions Phnom Penh Crown FC strengthened their position at the top of the Metfone Cambodia League 2011 when they blasted Prek Pra Keila FC 4-0 at the National Olympic Stadium.
Three minutes in, Suong Virak put Phnom Penh in front before a second goal from Chan Chaya right at the end of the first half gave them a 2-0 lead at the break.
Sok Pheng then gave Phnom Penh the third goal in the 49th minute before Njoku Kingsley Metu then wrapped things with a 55th minute strike.
In the meantime, a hat-trick from Abolabode (24th, 36th and 71st minute) fired Chhlam Samut to a 4-2 victory over fellow strugglers Rithysen.
Chhlam Samut’s other goal was scored by Silva six minutes to the end as Rithysen came close with goals off Esin Raymond Etim (42nd minute), Keo Tara (75th) and Sos Math’s own goal at the end.
On the other hand, Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC nailed a close 2-0 win over National Defense Ministry FC in a closely-fought tie, ensuring the three points with goals off Song Tara in the 53rd minute and Oladiji Olatune in the 78th minute.
