PHNOM PENH (22 July 2008) – Despite having their match against Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC postponed due to heavy rain, Phnom Penh Empire FC still maintained their place at the top of the Cambodia Premier League 2008.
The score at the National Olympic Stadium prior to the game being called off was 3-1 in favour of Phnom Penh who stays on top of the standings with 24 points from nine matches. Second is Build Bright United FC who have amassed 20 points from 10 games. In the meantime, Preah Khan Reach FC moved up to third following their slim 3-2 win over National Defense Ministry FC. Hok Sochivorn delivered the winner for Preah Khan two minutes to the end after the score was tied two apiece. The other goals for Preah Khan were scored by Hok Sochivorn in the eighth minute and Gnuon Chan Sothea in the 49th minute while Khim Borey nailed a double (2nd minute and 86th minute) for National Defense. On the other hand, Naga Corp improved their position in mid-table with a 2-0 win over Khemara Keila FC.
