PHNOM PENH (17 June 2014) – Phnom Penh Crown FC opened up a five point lead at the top of the Metfone C-League 2014 when they they beat Western University FC 2-0 on the weekend.
The former champions opened account early in the 14th minute through Leng Makara before Kim Jong Ho wrapped things up in the 67th minute. The win has allowed Phnom Penh to remain on top of the table with 39 points from 16 matches played.
Five points behind on second is Boeung Ket Rubber Field, who this week fell to a 2-1 loss to defending champions Svay Rieng. Dzarma Bata nailed the opener on 16 minute before Boeung Ket replied with the equalizer off Chan Vathanaka in the 64th minute.
Substitute Prak Mouyudom then grabbed the winner for Svay Rieng two minutes to the end.
Elsewhere, Albirex Niigata Phnom Penh FC held Build Bright United to a 2-2 draw as Triasia Phnom Penh romped to a 4-1 win victory over Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC.
Naga Corp FC beat Asia Euro University FC 3-1.
