PHNOM PENH (24 Feb 2010) – Phnom Penh Crown FC will have the chance to exact revenge on Naga Corp FC when the two sides square up in the semi-finals of the Hun Sen Cup next week.
The city side, who lost out the Cambodia Premier League crown last year to Naga Corp, made the final four of the championship this year following their 5-1 win over Wat Phnom while Naga booked their place after beating Build Bright United comprehensively, 6-0. Tieng Tiny were on target twice in the 14th and 34th minute as Hong Ratana (64th minute), Rey Bveasna (73rd) and Heng Sokly (74th) scored the other goals. The only goal for Wat Phnom came off Ry Pharouen in the 17th minute. Naga Corp on the other hand proved that they are too strong defensively for Build Bright United when they scored two goals at the half through Sun Sovanrithy (18th and 39th minute) before Tiep Vatanak scored a personal best with four goals (47th, 69th, 72nd and 86th minute) for the win. In the meantime, National Defense Ministry FC pulverised non-leaguer Prithisen FC 9-1 as Preah Khan emerged victorious in the other quarter-final tie 3-0 winner over Khemara Keila FC. Substitutes Sun Dali and Jong Soksana were the top scorer for National Defense when they each scored a hat-trick. Preah Khan had international striker Sam El Naza to thank for their passage into the semi-finals when he nailed two goals (15th and 90th minute) as substitute Sok Chanrasmey added another goal (55th minute) in between for the final score line. |
