PHNOM PENH (8 April 2010) – Phnom Penh Crown FC showed their determination to win the Metfone Cambodian League 2010 when they crushed Chhma Khmao FC 9-0 to go top of the standings with two wins out two matches.
Justine Prince (69th, 85th 90th minute) and Hong Ratana (64th, 71st and 80th minute) grabbed a hat-trick each as Nwankua Friday (14th minute), Hong Makara (20th) and Chan Chhya (40th) scored the goals for Phnom Penh against their hapless opponents. In the meantime, Khemara Keila FC bounced back from their season opening defeat to beat Preah Khan Reach FC 3-2 in their second league match. Despite taking the lead in the 51st minute off Ek Vanak, a lapse in concentration allowed Preah Khan to claw back with the equaliser on 64 minute from Tum Saray. Khemara then restored their lead with their second goal of the afternoon from Sok Phal Oudom in the 77th minute only to see it being erased yet again Sam El Nasa just three minutes later. But deep in injury time, Khemara finally made sure of the three points when Sok Phal slammed his second and Khemara’s third goal for the win. With the win, Khemara improved to sixth while Preah Khan remained on third. |
