PHNOM PENH (29 July 2012) – Phnom Penh Crown FC got back to their winning ways when they demolished Build Bright United 3-0 but it did little to dent Naga Corp’s position at the top of the Metfone Cambodia League 2012.
The defending champions, who have conceded six losses in 15 games, remained on fifth at the table despite scoring the early goal in the 18th minute through Chan Chaya and then adding further goals in the second half off Sos Souhana (50th minute) and Chan Chaya’s second goal at the tail end of the tie.
With the three points, Phnom Penh are seven points adrift of the league leaders Naga Corp.
In the meantime, Boueng Ket Rubber Field kept up the pressure at the top of the standings with a 2-0 win over National Defense Ministry FC off goals from Keo Sokgnorn in the 8th minute and Ke Vannak’s own goal in the 33rd minute.
Boueng Ket are fourth at the Metfone Cambodia League table behind Naga Corp, National Police and Preah Khan Reach FC.
